This Week at The H is a weekly feature here at Verso. Stop in each Monday to find out what’s happening throughout the week at The Huntington!
Saturday we’ll open another new exhibition, this one in the West Hall of the Library. “Illuminated Palaces: Extra-Illustrated Books from the Huntington Library” features more than 40 works representing the eccentric art of customizing printed books by adding illustrations. The practice, also known as “Grangerizing,” was popular from the late 1700s to the early 1900s. To get an advance handle on the concept you can check out a couple videos here; stay tuned also for a Verso post later in the week. The show runs through Oct. 28.
Saturday is also the day of our monthly Ranch Open House. From 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. you can explore The Huntington’s urban agriculture site and take home some fresh ideas for sustainable gardening. It is free with general admission.
For information on events that require registration and/or additional fees, please check out the calendar on The Huntington’s website.
