THIS WEEK AT THE H | June 24–July 1

this-week-at-the-hThis Week at The H is a weekly feature here at Verso. Stop in each Monday to find out what’s happening throughout the week at The Huntington!

Wednesday afternoon from 1 to 3 p.m. is our weekly live performance of traditional Chinese music in the Garden of Flowing Fragrance. A different solo musician performs each week, playing unamplified melodies on classical instruments including the dizi, sheng, pipa, erhu, and zheng. Listening is free with general admission.

This weekend is the Cactus and Succulent Show and Sale. From 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, hundreds of award-winning plants will be on view as the Cactus and Succulent Society of America presents its 48th annual show and sale. There will be an early-bird plant sale on Friday from noon to 4:30 p.m. Attending the show and sale is free with general admission. Event takes place in the Botanical Center.

We have a Nursery Collections Tour at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. Jim Folsom, the Telleen/Jorgensen Director of the Botanical Gardens, leads the ultimate tour for “plant geeks,” going behind the scenes in the nurseries where rare orchids, aroids, and other tropical plants are grown. The hour-and-a-half-long tour is free with general admission, but reservations are required. THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT.

For information on events that require registration and/or additional fees, please check out the calendar on The Huntington’s website.
