Many of you may be celebrating Veterans Day today with a day off from work. We started our commemoration a bit early—on Saturday, in fact—with a blog post featuring six Civil War–era photographs of Revolutionary War veterans. Read it here.
This past weekend also saw the opening of “Lesley Vance & Ricky Swallow,” a brand new contemporary art exhibition—the first ever inside the Huntington Art Gallery.
And while you’re upstairs in the Huntington Art Gallery taking in the new Vance paintings and Swallow sculptures, you might step on over to the Works on Paper Room, which is currently displaying “Britain and the Sea: Drawings and Watercolors from The Huntington’s Art Collections.”
NEXT WEEK: We’ll be closed for Thanksgiving next Thursday, but we’ll be open extended hours the following day, from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Come walk off some of those calories!
For information on events that require registration and/or additional fees, please check out the calendar on The Huntington’s website.
